BIO

    Jason Liacos is a  freelance guitarist, teacher and sideman working out of his hometown of Melbourne, Australia.

The versatility to cover a wide range of styles has seen him busy working in the live and studio scene across a range of genres, from soul, gospel and R&B through to rock, blues, latin and country.

 

A seasoned guitar slinger, Jason has toured internationally across the USA, Canada, Asia and the Pacific, performing in venues ranging from major stadiums through to intimate jazz clubs. He has played guitar on stage with artists such as: Jon Hume (Evermore), Stan Walker, Israel Houghton, Henry Seeley, Michael Paynter, Vita Adam, Zerafina Zara and Tania G.

Currently Jason is busy writing tunes for his instrumental album, playing for original artists, including local funk outfit Pickpocket, and working in the trenches in various Melbourne corporate bands. Jason's guitar influences are players such as Wes Montgomery, Niles Rogers, Paul Jackson Jr., John Mayer, Guthrie Trapp, Andy Wood, Dann Huff, Eric Johnson, Jimmy Herring and Brett Garsed to name a few.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Music with Honours in jazz guitar with Monash University and completed his Bachelor of Music at SCU under the tutelage of legendary jazz fusion icon, Jim Kelly.
